Village Hidden by Clouds - Land of Lightning

Full-sized Image
Please note that all buildings are built around and inside cliff faces, including personal dwellings. Because of this, there are many stairways inside the mountains, and rope bridges between important areas.
Ninja Services and Administration
1. Raikage Office- Administrative Ahoy! The Raikage has the best view, but the deeper you go into the mountain, the more administrative everything you find.
2. Library- Placed on one of the taller mountains, it's something of a hike to get up to it, and there are many little shops and residences scattered along the cliffs underneath it. But hey, if you want a book they have, it's worth it, right?
4. Academy- Where young shinobi to be are trained up! It's not unheard of for families with young kids to get priority in the housing surrounding the school, since no one wants there to be a falling accident. Thus, it's rare to have a family living nearby that doesn't have at least one child.
5. Intelligence- Set on a comfortably hard to get to bit of mountain, this building is where prisoners are dragged and spy networks are maintained from.
7. Watchtower- Located on the most vulnerable section of the village, this perch serves as a lookout and checkpoint for anyone coming into the village. State your business.
15. Archive- Kept on the upper slant away from the flood areas, this is where all reports and files end up.
17. ANBU Headquarters- Secured more underground than most of the village buildings, the ANBU headquarters are where the ANBU all train and work, most of the time.
24. Aviary- The birds are friendly, and there's almost never any issues getting to them. They also know to bring replies right to the person who sent them out instead of making people haul off tot he aviary to check.
Public Service Buildings
3. Hospital- Carefully placed essentially smack dab in the middle of the village, this building probably has the most bridges of any. Then again, it's a hospital. It's well loved.
Recreation and Training
9. Training Plateau- The most popular in-village training area, the plateau is just like it sounds. A nice big flat space of rock. Please be careful, there aren't handrails.
11. Arena- Chunin exams ahoy! Of course, there's also periodic game events hosted here, and its another place to train, so there's that.
22. Music Hall- Music music everywhere! The top level is a performance area that's rather spacious and conducts sound beautifully. The under-level seels instruments and music sheets, as well as recordings.
25. Public Baths- This is one of the lower buildings in the village, mainly because it's wide and smack on top of its mountain with a fine canopy overhead to keep out prying eyes. It's nevertheless a popular place to go.
Shopping and Dining
13. Grand BBQ House- What it says on the tin, people. This is the best place to get meat off the grill and BBQed both, though it's unfortunate to say it's a bit pricey because small game is easier to come by in the area than big.
16. Grocery- Need groceries? These guys can help. Come here for all your home shopping needs. They'll even help you carry it home!
18. Weapons and Leather- A shinobi supply store! These guys cover weapons, and by that they have a line on an excellent supply of swords, as well as armor, exploding tags, and a vast variety of other shinobi goods.
20. Grand Boutique- Clothes, clothes everywhere. Shinobi grade fashion friendly is the style of the day, and you can special order anything you want in any color if they can't satisfy you off the rack.
21. Art Emporium- Half and half art museum and art store, you can buy pretty much everything in this building, and have fun looking at it too. Most sales displays are tactically placed around art that used those mediums to be created.
23. Movie Theater- Placed high up over the water, and admittedly taking a bit of ambition to get to, the movie theater none the less is worth the jaunt, as the surround sound system is excellent.
Residential
6. Jounin Waystation- Need a place to crash for a day or three? Between missions and don't want to bother with an apartment? This is where you want to be! If you're a jounin anyway.
8. Foreign Housing- Coming to visit Kumo? They have a mountainside just for you. Enjoy that wonderful view.
10. Flood Retreat- Some points of the village just didn't manage to get the elevation needed to keep them out of the flood-path when waters rise in the spring. While people have learned, and building low enough for this to be a problem is rare, there is still the odd flood season that wipes out the lower buildings. People have to live somewhere while their house gets relocated. Again.
14. Raikage Residence- The Raikage have all traditionally lived here... usually with the eight tails jinchuuriki.
Clan Holdings and Compounds
12. Nii Residence- Most notable because of their abilities, this clan often have been given the honor of housing the two tails, and as such have an excellent reputation.
19. Yotsuki Estate- Known often as the right hand family of Kumo, they're one of the groups that are known for their name, and are rather proud of it. They even have a nice estate with satellite buildings.
